Long time no see
But had nothing fun to write about, sorry! I was unstrapped, have been busy trying to coach my shoulder to work nicely again and get back to work . Shoulder, unfortunately, is not listening to me, so I will probably be in for an operation ( prosthesis). But we will see about that later on, I am due for an appointment in 3 weeks.
I did stitch a bit on the Aubusson, not very much , though.
BUT , to show something....
Yesterday a friend ( Helma) came along to adopt my second Kendrew house. It is wonderfully built, but somehow I did not get any inspiration and I finally decided to look for another home for it.
Helma was the taker, she is over the moon and I am very very happy that , instead of sitting dejectedly in a corner of my house, this house is going to be loved. She has lots of plans with it.
She sent money to an animal shelter as a payment ( my usual fee ...)
However , she also made me these lovely presents:
One stitched kitty cushion ( neat , eh?? I love it!!)
And a wonderful open book of Alice in Wonderland
It is beautiful!!!
Later on another friend came to see my collection, she also brought some presents
Two open cans of kitty food for my cat lady
Kitty litter and a litter tub ( sorry, clearly in use :-) )
And some herrings with onions for the lady herself:. Well, if the cats won't snatch them, that is.
She also made a tin of sardines, but they refused to be photographed, the light is hopeless now. Gabriëlle makes the most inventive and fun miniatures.

Miniroomba driver
About half a year ago I bought a RL robot vacuumcleaner (now called Annie) . She does a great job keeping my living at least a tad neat, esp as I am now a bit handicapped, of course. Nice investment! (And well, I always hated vacuuming, anyway...)
There is one funny video that went viral on youtube "Roomba driver" .
Inspired by this , Alice Zinn, a very gifted US miniaturist made a miniature Roomba driver.
so recently my cat lady got one from me as a thank you present, rehoming all the homeless cats I have provided her with over the years :-)
Here is my Roomba driver!

Birds and kitties :-)
While browsing the web last week I found a wonderful UK maker of tiny birds , Sadie of Tiny Tails miniatures . TWO days after she delivered the parcel to the mail , it arrived here ! Two delightful bluetits , one equally delightful bullfinch.
I put them on Bluebell cottage for the pics . They are hard to photograph due to their size and I am too plain lazy to start fighting with a stand for the camera with my poor little one hand, so if you will allow for the poor quality of the pics, here goes :
She also had an adorable little piece of 5 kitties, called 5 o'clock tea :
Guess what ? My cat lady got that one....

A big box of surprises !!!
I am gobsmacked.
This week I received a box from my lovely friend Shelly Hawley-Yan in Canada. shelly is an avid animal lover and does lot of rescue work ( last post mentioned she is rehabilitating a goldfinch :-) ) , all kinds of animals, and , of course cats/lkitten/dogs. I often do wish I were her neighbour, would be hanging out there all day helping out.
Back to the box. It contained so much I could not, at first, take it all in !! This morning was the first time I had to photograph everything . A BIG lot of pics to follow !!!
First I wanrt to show you this wonderful drawing ( pen and watercolors) she made of Floris, my little brave kitty who died 1 1/2 years ago.
It is fantastic ,each time I look at it I see him back, looking this charasteristic way.
she included a miniversion...
And lots of other things like :
very small kitty portraits
lovely paintings...
and even a porcelain kitty
A very nice halfscale kit... I think it will come in handy in my meece house :-)
Part of all these lovely gifts were packed in these two (RL) containers:
and it all came with a very sweet message , written on this card :
Can you imagine I am really gobsmacked ?
Thank you so much Shelly !
And please everyome who reads this , consider donating to the organisation.

A kitty charm and some kitty buttons :-)

very small kitty vases ( porcelain)
Since we are both petit pointers ( Shelly designs wonderful things) she understands the need for nice sharp scissors. I love nice sharp scissors! Am always on the lookout for them.
A ( cat decorated ) magneto comes in veryy handy when you loose the small needle and it must be somewhere. sometimes you can actually see it, but can't pick it up. But it can also simply hold needles.

two little gals arrived today
I recently ordered two little dolls after having accidentally ( you know how is works, browsing web, following links, etc) from Mararita (I). She makes adorable children. Well, I could not really pass over the little one with a cat in her lap, could I ?
so here they are in their new homes:
Of course, she WOULD go and live with the cat lady !!!
The other little lady chose to go somewhere else and lives in the Kendrew nusrsery now:
Talking of the cat lady's house : sampler is in place. I also want to show you the adorable quilt that Petra made for me :
And here is the bellpull in place !

Tiffany's mug and the Flatfoot Family
Some of you may remember that I have sa series of little mugs with portraits of all my furkids, most of who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge by now :
Since, however, my household was containing my little new furkid, I recently added a Tiffany mug, too!
They were supplied by Michelles Miniatures. Just send her a pic by email or snail mail and then this little adorable thingie will wing its way to you... :-)
And another critter family found its home here, too. I am calling them the Flatfoot Family. They were made by Ann Galvin (UK ) of Elf World Miniatures, she also sells on ebay : as Elf-World
here are the parents
( giggle....)

The aftermath of the online miniature show
Glory be! My loot starts turning up in earnest now, so lots of pics....
I received some whimsical teapots and a mushroom with a hangover , made by Loredana Tonetti ( Lory's little things)
A romantic teapot with roses:
This one has found room in my tearoom ( an online workshop by Cynthia Howe)
And these two teapots were sooooo funny, I couldn't resist:
( yes, they both do have lift-off covers, as has the rose teapot)
I also saw a nice mushroom with a hangover and in very bad humour:
Which , of course , was delegated to the mouse house :-) Poor meeces....
OK , next !
I also received the flowers I had bought from Pim Sukkerd in Bangkok, Thailand ( sorry, no website, I have nearly begged her to make one or to make her preence more known by blog, whatever. She can be found on Facebook, though). My, that gal makes wonderful flowers!
First : this vase of mixed flowers
going to live in a separate posh roombox ( yes , I am a posh lady....)
Lilies, for now in the selfsame roombox
Roses.... They have such a wonderful warm pink/ orange color !
So decided to put them on the dining table in the Kendrew House
But I ran into a bit of trouble here:
When I first put the roses onto the table I discovered that the silver was very dirty and needed to be cleaned and the wonderful dinnerware ( Stokesay , no less, giggle) , so I sighed, cleaned the table off and cleaned all little thingies on it.
I love that table, btw, it was made by the late Allan McKirdy. He was a lovely man.
I also bought some irises:
They were in a basket, so I thought I had better put them into Bluebell cottage, my adorable little cottage
OK, next :
I had also fallen for some of Ludwina's hand-knotted carpets! Never having seen them "in person" , but having heard how wonderful they were, I nosed around at her "table"at the on-line show. One of the great things is, you have the dolls house sitting next to you while choosing a carpet, so I looked with my ruler and decided which color I wanted .
Yesterday they also arrived...
And with a cleaned-up dinner table I could finally lay this wonderful carpet in the dining room !
In deference to Ludwina's artwork, I put aside some chairs for one of the pictures:
And here is the setting as it looks now.
The rug looks somewhat blue in the pic, but in person is it darker.
The second rug , the small one, went into the young ladys'bedroom ( the only bedroom I have got, except for those of my housemaid, all others must sleep in the gutter, I am afraid)
Onthe right hand side you see a youthful sin of mine, a carpet I stitched eaons ago. It will be replaced, eventually, by something stitched on gauze, but I have a bucket list of stitching to do, so that won't be soon, I am afraid :-)
The third was one of the little kitty mats
And I also received, earlier this week, lovely sets of correspondence etc from Montserrat Folch ( Spain)
I snagged these pics from her website, as it was hard for me to photograph them . At least my dolls are going to have some social life now, I hope .
Soooooooo you can see, I had a LOT of fun at the on line show and I want to thank Shelly Norris for all the work she has done !
It is so nice to see work by people that either you did not know of, or that you could not buy at the web otherwise, or sometimes, just to dive in and look what you find :-) And happily looking / browsing for a morning behind your coffee ( I love minishows, but always need more coffee than I have time for and my feet , even in sneakers , will kill me) has definitely its points.
