Just bits of news

Today Sharon de Vries and her friend Erica Gros came to have coffee here ( if I think of it , I will have a  pic of them at Rheda , forgot about it , of course). Sharon brought me this wonderful small baby bib

Erica brought me a  loverly fern kit and explained to me how to do it. I will post more extensively about that later , but it is really well done!!


In the meantime I ripped my Alice doll apart( poor gal) , the arms were nor right, but if those blessed arms are going to stay in place now, I think they are going to work .
And I hung and laid down several of Georgia Marfels's creations in this cupboard that I made ages ago and never stocked up. As you can see, some more shopping is indicated , so on my Rheda list, too  . That list is filling up by now.
For the fishies I made a waterbasin from a plastic box, hardly an original idea , but what is a  gel to do,eh ? I used clear drying Aleene's gel this time, hope it will keep allright. I am not fond of resin.

A big box of surprises !!!

I am gobsmacked.

This week I received a box from my lovely friend Shelly Hawley-Yan in Canada. shelly is an avid animal lover and does lot of rescue work ( last post mentioned she is rehabilitating a goldfinch :-) ) , all kinds of animals, and , of course cats/lkitten/dogs. I often do wish I were her neighbour, would be hanging out there all day helping out.

Back to the box. It contained so much I could not, at first, take it all in !! This morning was the first time I had to photograph everything . A BIG lot of pics to follow !!!

First I wanrt to show you this wonderful drawing ( pen and watercolors) she made of Floris, my little brave kitty who died 1 1/2 years ago.

It is fantastic ,each time I look at it I see him back, looking this charasteristic way.

Since we are both petit pointers ( Shelly designs wonderful things) she understands the need for nice sharp scissors. I love nice sharp scissors! Am always on the lookout for them.

A ( cat decorated ) magneto comes in veryy handy when you loose the small needle and it must be somewhere. sometimes you can actually see it, but can't pick it up.  But it can also simply hold needles.

A very nice halfscale kit... I think it will come in handy in my meece house :-)

birthday present

Look what I found when I came home...

A lovely lovely bedspread, crocheted ( not knitted, as I thought at first) by my clever and sweet friend Petra (You may remember her as the lady who also stitched those two Tasmanian critters for another friend). The bedspread is for one of my minibeds; I think the lady in my Victorian house could use it.
The card is lovely, too. The kitty bears a real resemblance to my dear Floris.

baby dressed

Some weeks ago I bought this cuuuuuuuuute baby doll , made by Debbe Mize.

BUT- , although I can do dressing ( i.e. sewing ) I am definitely not a knitter or crocheter. So I asked a very sweet friend of mine, Petra, to do some dressing for me.
Yesterday the postman came and brought me this beautiful little outfit ! Isn't it clever ????!!!!!

The beautiful bedspread and roll cushion made for me by Petra.
Somehow I can hold a needle to dress dolls, but do not ask me to sew anything alse, neither in mini or in RL ( ask the drooping buttons of my clothes)
The beautiful cat cushion was made for me by Joan Wareing from Upholland, UK, with the motto "Cattitude is everything " Quite right, too!!!




The beautiful tatted tablecloths Winnie made for me. She is an artist , and a patient one .



The scratching cat on he kitty sofa was also given to me by Joan W. She feels guilty ( or threatened by me ) as she once had the courage to say that she did not like life-size-cats, so she is making amends, I am afraid..... !!! Haaahaaa !!!

That beautiful knitted little doll, which was taken up as a bedmate by a Bridget McCarthy cat, was given to me by Tineke. Also such an artist with the needles....Isn't it a sweet combination ?

Friends in the cat lady's house: friends corner !

From time to time I receive presents or swaps from sweet friends. They ( the gifts ) often land in the cat lady's house, as they are often ( although not always ) cat-related, otherwise they just fit in so nicely that I want them to be there.

On the left : a cut- out three-D painting of two kittens that Petra , my friend in Bergen op Zoom , NL ,made for me

In the red basket : a Spanish kitten , made by Teruka in Spain; she also made the basket.A sweet guy - my b/w was really intrigued when I unpacked him....!

The basket with bunny was a very unexpected and sweet present from Anne Johnson in Ca, USA.
She also added a pic in mini of her grandchildren in Victorian clothes; it is hanging over the cat-lady's bed.

The beautiful line drawings were given to me by Shelly Hawley - Yan ( Canada ), for a swap session, as was the dark red cat pillow .Shelly does a lot of animal rescue work, so she knows I love kitties !

The dress with kitties was given to me by Petra, again , so lovely ! She also made this quilt hanging over the bed.( I cannot quilt to save my life ) Now here is a clever lady.....
The light blue cat climber and the kitty playing there came from Elaine,St Louis, USA, another PPer(petit-pointer) who visited me about two years ago ....
