Just bits of news

Today Sharon de Vries and her friend Erica Gros came to have coffee here ( if I think of it , I will have a  pic of them at Rheda , forgot about it , of course). Sharon brought me this wonderful small baby bib
See how small it is and how very well knitted ? I could NEVER EVER do this !!!!
Thank you Sharon !!!

Erica brought me a  loverly fern kit and explained to me how to do it. I will post more extensively about that later , but it is really well done!!

In the meantime I ripped my Alice doll apart( poor gal) , the arms were nor right, but if those blessed arms are going to stay in place now, I think they are going to work .
And I hung and laid down several of Georgia Marfels's creations in this cupboard that I made ages ago and never stocked up. As you can see, some more shopping is indicated , so on my Rheda list, too  . That list is filling up by now.
For the fishies I made a waterbasin from a plastic box, hardly an original idea , but what is a  gel to do,eh ? I used clear drying Aleene's gel this time, hope it will keep allright. I am not fond of resin.

More of Pim's exquisite flowers!

Last week I received another parcel from Thailand with these fantastic cold Porcelain flowers made by Pim

and today I put them into pots and a jug

I put them in my Victoria House

The needlework shop

During the latest fair in Apeldoorn I bought this shop:

It is in Jugendstil style.

Being the lazy gal I am ( and still looking for inspiration on how to go along for decorating ) I hardly did anything to the outside, as yet. I did do wallpapering, though and cut and stained the skirting, so decided that today was as good a day as any to remove things from my "old"shop and move in to the "new "one.

Bot are needlework shops. If I am quite honest , I use it to dump my overproduction :-) I haven't got round to making some windowshop yet, will come ( we hope) in time.

Here are pics of the shop as it is now, inside

Several gossiping ladies, the widow in black waves with the testament of her late hubby, who left everything to a floozy, I am afraid.

the younger ladies are not really impressed

Here a sampler collection. Not all of them were made by me, though, two of them I think I bought some time in the past. Of the red cat I am quite sure, as it reminded me of Floris, the plant is a bit of a question mark, though.

I found lots of other things once I took that shop apart, like a  straw hat. Tiffany has taken hold of it and is tearing through the house with "kitty's own straw minihat"

I found a vase in my stash

PERFECT for those wonderful lilies made by Pim !! It was made by Leo Reijnders who sells lovely glassware ( handblown) at the fairs in Apeldoorn and Rheda.

Look pretty good, huh?

Again : the Miniature Online Show

In March , the Online Miniature Show was held again ( basically a show, but online). It is organized by Shelly Norris and one of the great things is that you can find things there by artisans whom you did not know, or whose work you could never buy another way. There are others, too, who are present on the web, like Wendy's Miniatures . One of her most original lines is the fossile/stone part.

That triangular thing is a mosasaur tooth.....:-) I did not google it as yet. It will be great in my Four Candle Shop , I think!!

Those tiny things in front are shells...You can see it when you have them in front of you, a magnifier may be of help .

And then there was Pimsiri Sukkerd from Thailand, dealing as Bee Tree Miniatures. She makes the most amazing porcelain and cold porcelain things!! She has no website ,( 20-April )EDIT SHE HAS A WEBSITE !!!!  Looks and see what this gal makes, it is GREAT !!!

Alice's rabbit done

I had a busy day today , mostly boring household chores, I am afraid. But I had finally puzzled out how to dress my Alice in Wonderland rabbit. I went to the hobbyshop and bought some textile pens ( they are heat-setting) and simply drew the design onto white lawn. Of course, reularly dressing dolls, I always have that in my stash.

With the help of the pleater I made an Elizabethan collar . I had wanted to give him a trumpet, too, but the ones I had bought for him were too big, so he will have to do without. Still  , he looks a reasonably happy guy ( in spite of my obvious mistake in making him up :-) )

Fair Apeldoorn April 2013

Sooooo, I am back from the Apeldoorn fair. The weather was lovely, the fair rather quiet. I do hope that the sellers did sell enough to make it worth their while, though.
My loot this time !

I bought a (pre-ordered) Jugendstil ( Art Nouveau) shop from Micropalacio , a German builder whom I saw for the first time. I loved this shop when I saw it on his website. It had to be slightly shallower, though, as it was too deep for my windowsill. My cats do sunbathing big time on these roomboxes, so you can imagine what would happen if it were wider...

Here it is !

Yes, you can also buy it as a kit, but I am not much of a builder...

And I fell for this lovely set of dolls by Christa Chayata .....

Of course I needed some Alice in Wonderland books and some others, too ( Dateman Books)

Found some Crafty cats files

And decided to go ( finally ) for that lovely chatelaine I had been seeing for years at Jens Torp's stand !!!!

(I nicked the picture from his site, my photos were horrid.....)

Aaaaand errrr, well, you know I am an avid fan of Georgia Marfels....

blackbirds...

rack of meat, boiling salamander ( I am afraid)

nasty stuff...

Demonstration by angry rats ( AGAINST !! STOP !!)

One rat pondering whether he will join the demo

Nasty mushroom

Little green devil

wasps and flies

I also bought some dollstands ( the clear acrylic ones and some other smaller things and some well made frames , nice for framing samplers and the like .

All in all a satisfactory day !!
