Alice...

I have some BIG trouble with Cobweb ( well, I always told anyone willing to listen that I am definitely not a builder...) Exchanged the two roof parts, looks idiotic now.
The only way I could save it if I would know anyone with a table saw to take tabs off the back roof.

Failing that, I think I will be better off trying afresh in the new year . No buying right now as posties are in overdrive this time of the year, anyway.

But on the bright side, I took Alice out , made her an apron, draped skirt and apron, made a branch for Cheshire Cat to sit on ( branch grows out of book chest :-) ) . OK, apron is slightly wonky , but I don't care !!!

  1. I love your Cheshire cat Elly and Alice looks great too! Mmh, I have a table saw...but guess I am a bit far...now if we could only figure out how to teleport that would be great. Actually I have always had a secret longing for Mary Poppins's umbrella and travel bag, it would simply life so much ;-)

    1. Yes, it would.... By the way, I am sure you would have done a better job on dressing the gal, but she is the first I got to after that long interval of non-mini :-) .
Amd as for Cobweb - well, I know what I have to do now to get it right,
I think, so just overcame the minidepression and go with my other things! As it is, I have simply put it together without glue, so that I can make furniture to go with it and not worry.

    1. Thank you Elizabeth ! I love the Alice theme too, had a hard time finding the right doll kit in my stash , though ( she was made by Cynthia Howe) .
I got the idea when I saw these small display cases for sale, they are great for these tiny scenes.

  3. Well I have a small table saw and I live closer to you than Elga ;-) You're always welcome to come and cut off your tabs, or have me cut them for you. Can you not cut them with a hand saw?

    1. I might hold you to that, Josje. There is no way I can do this by hand, the stuff is too hard for me to handle.... :-)

  4. I know less than nothing about sawing other than really hard stuff demands very fine teeth - jewellers' saw? - Google around and see what sort of blade you would need - you can pretty much saw anything with the right blade - I am told!!!

I love your Alice in a book - utterly gorgeous - as for the pinny and skirt - when are pinnies and skirts ever totally neat and tidy - she looks much more realistic and not like a primly dressed doll. The cat is just right cute and creepy at the same time - just as he should be. Lovely work.

    1. Thank you Em !
Well, getting a saw is possible, but I do not have that kind of force in my hands, I am afraid :-) . So need to find an electric saw or forget about it altogether ....
