Arbour ready ( we think) and we made some baskets

Today Dafna came and made and glued on the last flowers on the arbour we made some time ago
You can see her here on the left making wisteria to hang in the background and on the right she is plaiting threads to make handles for our canvas baskets:-). You can see she is a dancer - I am not quite sure I could plait while sitting comfortably in a double eight or something the like...

Dafna made roses

Yesterday Dafna was here again and she determinedly set to work making the most beautiful roses for her arbour. They are lovely indeed ! We just used a simple household punch for the petals and painted printer paper . For the leaves, I had to use a punch , of course, and she patiently veined the leaves.

She is not yet done with them , of course, but one can see she worked quite hard.
A pupil to be proud of !

Working on the clematis

Today Dafna worked on attaching her clematis to the arbour/ trellis we made.
We both think it looks rather pretty! Even Fluffy seems to think so...

Today Dafna was here again ; the trellis we made last time will be filled with flowers.
Some months ago I saw a very nice tutorial on Marjo's site on making clematis; I had , however , not any punch for the leaves which would do. Marjo kindly punched a LOT of leaves for us and today we started on making her flowers. First , however , we attached the flower wire and the leaves to the trellis.
Next week we hope to get on with the flowers themselves. Dafna wants half clematis, half roses.

Dafna and I

made some garden furniture today...

Our ingredients were embroidery fabric( canvas, actually) and electric wire (the chair nicked from the Freida Gray book , I thought out the trellis). Actually , we are both rather proud of our clever little selves!

The things will be spray-painted , like the old bench Dafna inherited from me ( white, btw, a visit to Halfords is indicated) After which we will fill the trellis with flowers. I think a lot of clematis will look nice, and maybe roses on the other side.....

Dafna is learning again...

This time making roses from paper. I had punched out petals( just circles with a good old household paper punch) from red japanese paper and it worked surprisingly well. We will make some more roses and the leaves next time when we get round to it.

On to the next project

Dafna has got two dolls now. However, there is also a cat in her home who absolutely likes minis , same as all cats, I am afraid.
It would have been lovely to plant both dolls into a garden , but that is NOT practical , at all! Ronya would immediately claim the garden as her own.
That was the reason Dafna bought a conservatory kit, on which she spent part of the afternoon painting. Not that she likes painting, but, ummm, well, it is her kit, after all, so I am ruthless :-)
