My little patient

Floris is going downhill fast by now. He is very thin, but that is not the worst news ; I saw him walking lopsided last week and now I have discovered why this is so- there appears to be  a lump ( possibly a lymphnode metastasis) underneath his front paw . I can't move it  from his ribs, so either he is in pain already or will be soon.
It will be time to think about saying goodbye to this lovely sweet and brave furkid of mine in a very foreseeable future. Well, I knew this was about to happen, of course, but that doesn't make it less hard. And the real problem, of course, is deciding when enough is enough- he still loves lying and sleeping  in the sun, comes for his food and for his cuddles.

I'm so sorry about your kitty. You'll know when it's time to let go. He looks like a sweetheart!

  2. I've been through a similar scenario three times before, so I have an idea what you must be feeling. Enjoy him as long as he will eat and enjoys life, as you said. What a sweetheart!

  3. I was so upset by this news! It's a shame when it happens to the pets ... They are innocent creatures and did not deserve to suffer ...
    Hugs (be strong)

  4. Elly, my heart goes out to you. Having lost 2 fur babies in 6 months I know how you feel. Only you can make the decision and you will know when the time is right to say enough is enough. Be strong.

  7. Ach Elly, wat een triest nieuws. Katten zijn meesters in het verbergen van pijn. Ik hoop dat Floris geen pijn heeft en wens je sterkte bij het afscheid nemen.

  8. That last photo of Floris is just a beauty Elly! I have been in just your position more than once and it breaks your heart. Floris is so fortunate to have had the loving care he has received for so long and I know you have many happy memories of his loving company to comfort you when the time comes. Give him a gentle cuddle from me and know that I feel so much for you. Hugs, Sandie
