White rabbit for Alice

Today I finished putting the White Rabbit together for Alice in Wonderland. As you can see, I am definitely not a gal for making miniature animals :-( . It is not the kit maker's fault, somehow it won't work for me, apparently ).
The kit was made up by Emily Farmer . there is  a frustratingly better looking prototype at her website...

He will get dressed, an Elizabethan collar and some card-themed jacket. In case anybody has a  good idea , please suggest ! Not printies, though, my printer ink fades fast !

  1. I don't know what you are talking about...I think he is awfully cute!
As for the jacket, you could embroider some of the playing card symbols on it, or maybe just some cards as pockets or so?

  2. Ja ik heb er gisteren ook al naar gekeken maar hij lijkt echt heel goed hoor Elly...een pracht exemplaar!

    Groetjes Helma

  3. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this bunny. He is perfect for Alice and Wonderland!!! You are like me, too critical of your own work. Google white rabbit and Alice and you will have tons of ideas for your rabbit. Good Work...

  4. I too think he's come out really well Elly - don't underestimate yourself! Looking forward to seeing his clothing. I think Josje's suggestions for embroidered playing card symbols is great.
    Hugs, Sandie (

  5. Thank you all for your encouraging replies! Yes, I think embroidery would work best, something on doubled bonded white cotton. I printed out an imagine of the White rabbit that looks really cute :-). So will keep you all posted!

  6. Hi Elly, your rabbit looks great. Your frustration reminds me of when I started making bears year ago. One easy thing you might try is shaping the head/face a bit. To do this thread a long needle with strong thread and with a knot in the end insert it at the base of the neck (pull hard and the knot will disappear inside. Bring the needle up under the eyebal and then down ago back to the neck. Pull tight and the eye will sink in to the fabric and look more realistic - repeat for other eye. You can also do this similar thing to give the nose more shape. Take some stitches that will shape the nose and give it more definition. You have certainly done a good job so far. For dressing you could also cut some foot pads with a heart, club, spade or diamond and sew/glue to his feet bottoms. Have fund creating.....Penny in Canada
